The transplant terror thriller Awake presented all those based dread, and should not be recommended patients who experience to visit your own doctor anytime soon. Awake refers to an unusual phenomenon. In medical term it is called as “anesthetic awareness” which is being experienced by some patients during surgery, where their bodies do not work anymore but they can see and feel everything.
According to the film, Clayton ( Hayden Christensen) has everything : money, a lovely mom, his own company, a world in his hand, and of course a beautiful woman. But, unfortunately he has unhealthy heart. He is on the list for transplant and he insisted to be operated by his good friend Jack Harper and the woman he loves, Samantha Lockwood (Jessica Alba) a girl who works as an assistant to widowed mother, Lilith. Clayton has been engaging, but he’s nervous about telling his mom who has been unnaturally attached to her son since her husband died and Clayton knows she won’t approve. Finally, he tries to tell her on the night of the company Halloween party, he gets exactly the reaction he expected. Clayton propose to Sam, she accepts and they decide to get married. Not long after the midnight ceremony, Clayton gets the call he has been waiting for a healthy heart which has just be available. Clayton and Sam rush to the hospital where Lilith is already waiting with last plea to allow heart surgeon Dr. Jonathan to perform the surgery instead of Jack who’s currently facing malpractice. However, a surgery must be carried on, is wheeled into the operating room. About eleven hours for Jack’s usual anesthesiologist. Clayton comes to the horrifying realization while anesthesia has complete operated his body, his mind and his sense are still quite alert. They prepare to remove his heart. Worse, he can also hear someone is making sure he won’t be alive.
My terrifying idea, all anesthesia patients could be a victim in this case. You should not easily trust anyone whom you really know even they are your close friends or your lovers. This movie is pretty cool. I had to overlook some scene; especially; operating process. In this movie, he is a wealth financial genius person who mistakenly awakens during his heart surgery. Although, he is fully conscious, the anesthetic keeps him becomes paralyze and unable to communicate. During the terrifying experience, he overhears the doctor’s conversation and learn that his surgery is a part of a sinister conspiracy.

This movie represents life of a workaholic man; Michael Newman who doesn’t spend much time with his wife and children. He spends his life time on his work because he thinks that hard working can bring his family a better life. Thus he tries to work hard to get a promotion. While his family needs him to concern about them or do some family activities together. One day, he was so disappointed that his boss does not get a promotion for him. Furthermore, he had an argument with his wife. He thinks that he wants to make his life much easier. So he ran away from home to find a universal remote control to satisfy his needs. Then, he finally found Morty, a sale clerk in Bath, Bed and beyond shop who gives him a universal remote control which will change his life forever.
When he goes back home, he uses this remote control when he’s got dissatisfied feeling such as, take a cold shower in the morning, get a traffic jam during goes to work, having argument with his wife or others, getting sick or catch a cold or even have a boring sex. The first time he uses this remote control, he feels happy and thinks that this high technology equipment is fantastic and worthwhile for him. But he doesn’t know this special remote control will remember all of his preferences whether he likes or not. So it reflects a bad thing to him. When he faces these kinds of situation, it will fast forward for him. When he sees his painful life that his wife was leaving him and he also has a lot of deceases because of eating a lot of junk food, he wants to return it to Morty but it cannot returnable. It will belong to him forever until he died. At the end of this movie, he’s got a heart attack at his son’s wending. When he’s wake up, he found that he was in a hospital and cannot breathe by himself. Then, his son said that he was canceling his honeymoon because he needs to solve the problem about his project. Finally, Michael has an idea that family comes first. So he ran away from the hospital to tell his son and then he died, but when he wakes up he found that he was alive and look younger. Thus he changes himself to become a family man and the film ended happily.
At the first time I watched this movie, I thought that this movie is the best movie ever of Adam Sandler and really fantastic movie which is match for everybody. The movie provide the audience concerns more to their family and let them think about what will be happening next if they work too hard. This remote control is just like a time machine that makes people be able to see the past and future life. In the future life of Michael, he found that he ignores and feel bored with his father and mother. Moreover, due to his hard working, he neglects his health and consumes more junk food. So in his future, he became a fat man with lots of deceases. This scene shows the behavior of people’s today. In this movie, Michael can see his future life that he makes a lot of mistakes, so he can change himself to become a good man. But in the real world, there is no real universal remote control and people cannot see the past and future. There is the only one thing they could do is making everything as best as you can before it is becoming too late for you. Furthermore, if you think that the word ‘family must come first’ is very important for you; you will be never regret as in the movie, Michael Newman does. Moreover, for people who are a workaholic, they need to do as the film says ‘good guy need a break’.

Naresuan film was produced to praise Thai ancestors especially King Naresuan. This film has been taking a long time in production for the best benefits. It is divided into 3 sections; which are; “Pegu’s hostage” or Naresuan’s childhood, Proclamation of Independence, and The important war. In each section, the story telling shows different situations that concern Thai people in the present.
The story of King Naresuan film is about King Naresuan who was the son of King Maha Thammaracha. It shows his life since childhood until adulthood.
In 1564, Myanmar wanted to attack Ayuthaya by occupy Pitsanulok region which is one royal city. It causes the King Maha Thammaracha had to allow and joined in Burmese army to attack Ayuthaya. At that time King Naresuan was only 9 years old. He had been taken off to Burma as hostage to guarantee the relationship between Myanmar (Pegu) and Ayuthaya. Over seven years, he had returned home by the purpose of King Maha Thammaracha who wanted him to help in government service of Ayuthaya by presenting King Maha Thammaracha’s sister to King Bayinnaung.
After King Bayinnaung died in 1581, King Nundabuyin had succeeded to the throne. At that time, the relationship between Ayuthaya and Myanmar was worsened because King Nundabayin did not trust in King Naresuan and the King Naresuan himself did not respect to the King Nandabayin. Moreover King Naresuan manifested his capability in fighting which cause King Nundabayin was afraid that Naresuan will be enermy for Pegu’s royal family and its region one day. Then he had planed to assassinate King Naresuan.
For the production of this film, there were many new techniques, methods, tools and equipments such as computer graphic, special effects. This film had imported 30 trained horses from Australia to use in production. Then this film was considered as a big project film production and revolution of Thai film industry.
The film presents the story of Thai history; moreover it also presents the Thai people characteristics such as gratitude, patriot, respectful to elderly. It expresses the unity of Thai community, and leadership. Even more, this film was created to appreciate Thai independence.
We guarantee that this film will not waste your time but worth-while your interest. It can make you clearly understand about Thai history in the Ayuthaya period. Finally you will appreciate our ancestors and history after watching this film.

Numbers comes in the form of technology and so represents future and that is the major plot in the film “Knowing”. The director used this idea to connect the relevance of time in 2008 and fifty years before in the form of time capsule.
As most of you have known that time capsule is used to convey message from the past to future, to make people in the future understands how they lived and what they did in the past but never before that future people discovers a note about history and disasters that already happened during this fifty years and also can predict what the future might hold for our world.
That random numbers note was written by a little girl and was buried in the time capsule as part of dedication ceremony in elementary school. That girl was looked as weird person from other children and school teacher. She looked scared all the time and can listen to the whispering voices that no one cans. Fifty years later, the time to open the time capsule had come and Caleb, a young boy in that school had received that strange note. It was John, Caleb’s father and Physics professor who discovered that the note indicated dates, death tolls and major disasters happened in the past fifty years. He also saw that there will be the last disaster which was the most dangerous one for everyone on earth including him and his son. He tried calling for help but no one listens except Diana, daughter of the one who created that prophecies. Alas he understood what the author of prophecies wanted to say and he had to make a big ultimate sacrifice.
This movie was considered in action, sci-fi type of film for the idea, the aliens and the stunning shot of disasters, for example, the long 5 minutes shot when the airplane bent down and collapsed onto the floor or when the subway in New York lost its control and crashed people. Those shots are fascinating, though they were made by computer graphic; it still gave a sense of danger for the audience and made them get lost in it, unable to move. It looked very real and neatly done.
The aliens in this film are also different from others because they came in human form not with the big eyes, long legs or in green shape like we used to see. But instead the director used Nordics kind of aliens which is seen in Europe. The alien is also the important part of this film because it was portrayed that they are smarter than human; they knew the future which we did not know and tried to help us. This notion against John’s belief, because he believed that we can not know what lies before us, but after he found the truth he changed to think that our knowledge is nothing, our world was programmed by someone out there.
Even though this film was categorized in action, sci-fi genre of film which it really is but it also has a glimpse of Christian religion. There was part of the film that showed Caleb and Abby, Diana’s daughter, as Adam and Eve in the new world.
Apart from the imagination we created, director also gave the lesson in our life. They tent to focus on the relationship in the family which is common in this type of film but, as far as I knew, many of those films ended it with members in the family gather together and understand each other but this ended in different way. Furthermore, director tried to portray human instincts in the film; for example, when people are in the fear situation, they tend to get away from it despite deep down in their heart they know that they can not get away, it will happen afterward but we feel safer if we offend ourselves.
This film is worth time and money for it is fun and teaches us lessons. Moreover it is unpredictable; we think we know what will happen but actually we know nothing like the title “Knowing” itself.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

The Slumdog Millionaire film is the new choice for the audieces, it creates the new look of India. The films also the blind parts of the country which surprised all people around the world who have not known much about India. The directors tries to convince people that India is in the way that he tells in the movie. Greatly, the film has won 13 Oscar awards, it's the best guarantee for the movie lovers.

The Slumdog Millionaire film is mainly about the romance of two slum lovers, but the director seems to portray the pictures of India as the main theme. As I am pretend myself as an Indian people I would not be able to agree this film, because the film mostly expresses the negative angles of India; the community ruled by mafia and polices have no power to deal with this people; the conflict between Hindu and Islam which had brought about death; the aggressiveness of slum boys who called the polices ‘dogs’ and said an irony ‘is this your dad’s train?’, these phrases would never come out from educated people. On the other hand, as I am a non Indian, this film represents a kind of documentary, display the scene that really happen. The film shows life of two boys who can survive without mother; one chose to be a mafia but one chose to work honesty and love sincerely. Moreover, the questions in the show were all about the famous parts of India, it shows that the director wants the audiences to perceive India on the beautiful angles. Importantly, the film reveals that even Jamal has is low educated but he could win the game, according to he keeps his eyes open and look through things that some people might miss; it does not depend on how smart you are but it does depend on how flexible you are. --By Luknam

This movie shows the bad side in India and it offenses Indian people. First, it strongly supports people’s thoughts that India is a third world and poor country. In the film, slum in Mumbai are very crowded and dirty. People have no rule and no education. Secondly, it represents that Indian polices violated the human rights of Jamal who was under 18 years old. They torture him to make him confess that how he has cheated on the questions. Thirdly, the director, Danny Boyle was American. He tries to let the audiences see that American people are nice and forgiveness. For example, in the scene that two Americans were stolen their stuffs in the car, then the Indian police came to hit Jamal because he thought that Jamal stole their stuffs but two Americans tried to protect him and give him money, and then let him go. Finally, the film tries to give a bad side of India but actually some part of India is not like that. India has both positive and negatives like other countries. --By May

I don’t think “Slumdog Millionaire” is offensive. I quite disagree with this statement “Such films should at least convey some message, some motivation to the public and more so the elite to come forward & improve their lot. Instead, the film makers, actors, theaters make cores on depiction of such gruesome sites, at times nauseating but totally meaningless.” in Indianexpress.com. Actually, every country has these kinds of problems; poverty, crime, corruption, but no one says it out loud. This movie is being discussed because it tells the truth of Indian society and that action againsts human perception. Most of us accept only good things and want to present that angle to other people, if there is any bad thing happens, they will shun it out. This movie is different from other movies directed by American directors in the sense that documentary is not the only type of film which can portray real life. Also this movie gave us an idea that everyone can change their life if they try to. Even if the director doesn’t directly convey the message how to solve the problems, but the public will be acknowledged and want to improve society. One thing that I was wondering during seeing this movie is why Latika always wear dress or use accessory with yellow color when she met Jamal. Then I googled and found that it’s a kind of symbol describing what she feels. Because Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit according to about.com. This movie is a masterpiece. It's amazing strory line with great acting. A lot of scenes are the reflection of the changing of social classes in India. It is an incredible tale of Destiny; love, and fulfillment. The story is simplistic and engagement as the reality of poverty, humanity and love emerges. There is no space for innocence people in the world as we have seen in the film that they tried to make more money as beggars. A millionaire TV program was taking place with the main contestant who is Chi Wallar, knowing too much for his slum beggar. He is about to answer million dollars question when he was beaten to tell how he was cheating on the questions.
