European people; they tend to be more nationalism than Americans according to Juan's father does not speak other languages beside Spanish, because he falls in love with poems. Furthermore the movie always shows Spanish culture which had made Vicky and Cristina crazy about it (Goody and Mario); and the film also shows the leitmotif of Spanish acoustic song. Vice versa, American movies show how innovative they are and how much the power; high technology social with all kinds of modernism. This film represented a term of national cinema; Spanish sculpture, architecture, songs and European culture, which open freely than American,--"with Juan, Cristina found her life freely, romantic and different from American cultivated".
And as a human being, having sex is a nature of people; so the film expressed thoughts and interesting of human. But for some of American films, they usually expressed the supernatural authority that they have; for example Casablanca, it's American propaganda film, showed that America tried to help people from other countries get away from war.
In the movie, it is obvious that European people are sensitive to art and live their life base on the art (they are aesthetically innovative). These believe was described in many ways such as the structure and material of building which I saw some of them were not made from concrete. Streets were designed into small alley and buildings were artistically painted. People depend on love and understanding to live like Maria Elena, she tried to kill herself when she has no love. While American live their life on modernism- money, success and fame. Vicky who portrayed American thinks that Christina is ridiculous and acts like a child who believes in romantic which is the European way.
European style portrays artist’s feeling and free sex. They always have a tea time in the garden and having conversation together while American people like to drink coffee in the coffee shop. In free time, European people like to painting and criticize their works while American people like to go to the library and taking a photo. In the scene that Americans were talking about Japanese computer and television, it means they are very materialistic, something money can buy.
